Multi-season Austria offers all year rental potential

Austria is a country with an all year round attraction that just cannot be beaten. Buying a property in a country like Austria allows you far longer rental months than a place in the sun could ever do. All the four seasons offer wonderful activities in an ever changing landscape. A stable property market that is increasing in popularity, is affordable and offers sound rental income.

We can start with the Winter when by late November the countryside is turned into a fairy tale of glistening white snow on the mountains and valleys. The winter sports facilities are unrivalled and the sophisticated lift systems are some of the best in the world. (The snow record last season was excellent in a dire year throughout the European Alps). The villages are picturesque and original. The skiing and tourism grew up around the villages and are not purpose-built like so many in other countries. The mountain huts abound and the cosy hotels and houses offer warm and sincere welcomes. There is an abundance of winter activities including skiing, snowboarding, walking, cross-country skiing, tobagganing, skating and ice curling not to mention the sleigh rides.

Spring arrives with the meadows full of alpine flowers. This is when the walker, hikers, cyclists and motorcyclists start to arrive. The mountain huts stay open and the warm sunny days begin.

The summer activities list is endless. Mountain, downhill and road cycling begins. White water rafting and jet-boating can be found in many locations. The swimming lakes in most villages are open, the summer tobogganing starts and of course there is walking and hiking. The weather reaches mid to high 30s many days but like anywhere the rain can come but is quickly gone. There are adventure trails and child cycling routes, tennis, volleyball and some superb golf courses. The lakes are breathtaking and here you can sail or amble around stopping for a wonderful lunch. If you are not so active the towns and cities are a joy and with so many castles and museums to explore the days are fun filled.

The Autumn brings dramatic change to the landscape with breathtaking colours to rival New England in the Fall. Clear crisp days and the nights beginning to draw in. Walkers still go to Austria to enjoy the mountains before the snow when it isn’t too hot to hike.

Austria should be looked upon as a serious country to make an investment. The property market is bouyant and becoming more and more popular with people looking for good investment, be it for a holiday home, a business, or full time living.
